Arctic Polar Bear Cruises & Expeditions

Arctic Polar Bears of Svalbard, cruise expeditions and Ice Adventure...

The ultimate in polar exploration, Svalbard offers something truly unique to the modern day explorer. World Bear Safaris has access to some of the best expedition ships that explore this region in search of the King of the Arctic, the polar bear...

As well as polar bears in Svalbard, you will encounter a variety of Arctic wildlife on your frozen adventure including walrus and puffins. Your daily forays into this Arctic wilderness will provide a variety of unique discoveries.

Often referred to by the name of its largest island, Spitsbergen, Svalbard has few inhabitants with a population in the region of about 3,000. The main reason for the low population figures is the harsh weather conditions with thick ice and snow carpeting the archipelago during the winter months.

What To Expect on Your Arctic Polar Bear Expedition to Svalbard: As specialists in travel, we firmly believe that our clients benefit hugely from smaller group travel. It is through small intimate groups that knowledge is better transferred, which results in a much more enjoyable and informative experience for all involved.

It is for this reason that we make use of some of the smaller, but very well equipped, expedition ships throughout this region with a maximum capacity of 12 passengers on M/S Stockholm and 53 passengers on M/S Quest. Due to the size of these expedition ships, our Svalbard cruises are able to access some of the more pristine and wilderness regions of the frozen Arctic.

The ships we use all provide comfortable surroundings and private facilities making for the most comfortable voyage possible both whilst out exploring and also at night when relaxing back on the ship.
